CAREERS AT THE VELVET SALON

Do Beautiful Work in an Environment Designed for It

The Velvet Salon is growing. We’re looking for thoughtful, talented stylists who believe great hair begins with listening, intention, and giving each client the attention they deserve.

Join a premium, low-tox salon in downtown Monroe where quality comes before volume—and where you can focus on your craft without having to run an entire business around it.

A Different Kind of Salon Environment

Velvet was built around a simple idea: both clients and stylists deserve a better salon experience.

We intentionally work one client at a time. No double-booking. No assembly-line approach. Instead, we create space for thoughtful consultations, personalized services, beautiful work, and genuine relationships.

For our stylists, that means an environment where you can slow down enough to do excellent work—while the salon provides the systems, products, environment, and support around you.

Quality Over Volume

Your success isn’t measured by how many clients you can move through your chair. We value craftsmanship, consistency, client relationships, and work you’re proud to put your name on.

Built to Support Your Craft

Velvet provides the professional environment and business infrastructure around the client experience so you can spend more of your energy doing what you became a stylist to do.

What It Means to Work at Velvet

Velvet is a premium salon with a thoughtful, low-tox approach to hair care. But premium to us means more than beautiful surroundings or higher-end services.

It means remembering the details. Starting on time. Listening before recommending. Protecting the integrity of the hair.

Maintaining a beautiful environment. Continuing to learn. And making every guest feel genuinely cared for.

Our goal is to create an experience clients trust enough to return to again and again.

You Might Be a Great Fit If…

  • You hold a current Washington State cosmetology license.

  • You have approximately 1–5 years of professional salon experience.

  • You have strong foundations in haircutting and/or color.

  • You care about the consultation as much as the finished result.

  • You value quality over rushing through appointments.

  • You’re dependable, professional, warm, and comfortable working independently.

  • You’re open to feedback, education, and continuing to develop your craft.

  • You want to build long-term client relationships.

  • You’re excited to contribute to a growing salon rather than simply rent a chair.

You do not need to specialize in every service Velvet offers. We believe in developing stylists around their strengths while providing opportunities to expand their skills over time.
